Insight:

Jack pinch hits for Blake on bass while Henry adds flute in this more mellow and endearing song about managing life, it’s meaning and it’s illusions. Are we on the way? ?

Lyrics

winds of worry blowing strong
the nights are cold the hours long
ya try to shed some light upon this place

the news reports are dark and blue
it’s clear this world is not for you
just try and keep a smile upon your face….okay

are we, are we really on
the quest for light to shine upon….us….
your free will is… all you have
to lift the veil and go beyond yourself
feel the peace of deep commune
you and i confide but must alone
find the course… and stay the way

one day samadhi you’re out of the body and well on your way
how does it feel when the light is revealed i can’t say

you gotta be tough and strong
and stay on the way

if you awake in a place void of matter
wait for me there

you gotta be tough and strong
and stay on the way

if you get where opal light shines the brightest
wait for me there

are we are we really on
the quest for light to shine upon….us

how are we
to know?

Well, no doubt Jack's guitar is superb on this GRAND "hex"cursion into the land of astringent time signatures... Henry's vocals are just KILLER, in fact the whole TUNE is (something) like a 21st Century version of "Trouble Comin' Every Day", maybe. VERY neat structure, yet it's not the structure that COUNTS - it's the (nice & easy) FLOW. This is my favorite track (yet) on the new MIX, & it gets a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from me!

Great collab gents, love the mellotron and choirs, your combined talents and creativity are second to none, elements of flute are sweet, superb guitar work, did I hear some Taurus Bass pedal in there towards the end? A great synth that remindes me of Mike Rutherford's works. Finally, Henry has the prog-rock vocal thing down pat, fits your music perfectly. Keep up the great work!

I was really happy to be one of the first to review this. Some of my favorites here at IMS, and this is a treat. Love the guitar intro and the always interesting timing when the song comes together. EXCELLENT guitar work Jack!

Henry, your vocals are perfect for this, and you know I'm a big fan. I love the flute, aka King Crimson (compliment). Then the shuffle comes in and it goes in a new direction, a nice change up.

The drums and bass are so solid ... Jack, you must have had fun with your new Kit! Yeah! Blake, the keyboards fill this out nicely, especially liked the melotron.

Great job guys!

I just love how you guys pull off the progressive rock progressions with such a natural feel. This song displays all the incredible talent I have come to expect from you guys. Another superb creation.

Love the progressive complexities and the playful experimentations. It all comes together so cohesively and with such great style and majesty! So glad to hear music reminiscent of the golden days of prog created with such enthusiasm and modern technical flair. Also have to mention the wonderful and airy production too. A true delight for the senses! Congrats guys on a fantastic project of craft, art, and magic.

We all need someone to show us "The Way." There may not be any brighter beacons of enlightenment than you gentlemen. This is one stupendous bar-raising, harmonious event, and if you were any less enlightened, pride could slip in. Great work
